WATCH: Kanye West surprise peformance at CMJ Fool’s Gold Showcase at Brooklyn Bowl

Waited in a ridonkulous line for almost an hour, gave up, peaced out and had a beer somewhere else.

Thanks, internetz for making me feel like I missed the greatest thing ever. MAAAN. Who actually got in?

LISTEN: “The Bike Song” by Mark Ronson featuring Spank Rock and Kyle Falconer

Mark Ronson, I love you. Catchy, fun song not just about aimlessly riding your bike but about some srsbsns, and growing up and shizz, complete with bike bell rings in the beat.

Record Collection is to be released in the end of September.

LISTEN: “The Drug” by Royksopp

Seems like Junior was just released last week or something, but I’m super hyped for their new album, Senior. “The Drug” is the first single off of the new album and its beautiful and mellow. Their little blurb about it really puts it in perspective:

This highly synthetic drug is the latest craze. Gentle and appealing at first. Repeated use will result in severe personality distortion. Hear that little sound in your head? That ever decaying little “melody”? ..That’s your mind going…

Royksopp’s instrumental tracks have always been my favorite and this one definitely does not disappoint. Buy the track over on iTunes.

WATCH: “She (I Can’t Resist)” by Jesse Johnson on Soul Train

Sort of random but I can’t tell you guys how much I love watching old school dance shows on YouTube. Brings back memories of growing up on The Grind and Soul Train. Also watching people prance around in crazy ass outfits makes me a jolly girl. Check out the Rosie Perez cameo - you better werk.

DOWNLOAD: “Where I’m Going” by Cut Copy (download via official Cut Copy site)

Cut Copy fans rejoice - new single from them available for free if you just head on over to the their official site (how generous - sankyu!). Kind of the perfect song for the summer because it sounds like modern day Beach Boys. Plus, whenever I get images of myself frolicking on a gloriously sunny day on a beach while listening to a song, you know its win.

New York: they are also headlining a show at the Williamsburg Waterfront (for free!) on August 8th.
