Fairly old remix but felt appropriate since Beatcakes caught the Florence and the Machine show at Terminal 5 this past Friday. I’m personally not a huge fan of T5 just because of its location and the lack of intimacy (I prefer smaller venues in general) but the show was just perfect on Friday and fitting for Florence’s epic songs. Took her a little bit to warm up but by the time “Drumming Song” was on, girl kicked her heels off and was hopping around like a crazy. Her energy was definitely infectious - she managed to command a sold-out crowd to hop around repeatedly during her closing-set, “Dog Days are Over”. In regards to vocal quality, she definitely has moments that give you chills. Generally, its a vast improvement from previous clips I’ve seen of her live in her early days. Overall, a great concert that ranged from surreal dreaminess to high energy. Definitely worth catching her on tour!
