New MGMT today that has already exploded around the internet. Even though I’m totally feeling this track, don’t expect this to sound exactly like Oracular Spectacular’s “Kids”, “Time to Pretend”, etc.. “Flash Delirium” is totally 60s rock/pop influenced.

Music outlets worldwide have been abuzz with any and every new piece of music that his name has graced since details of another Flying Lotus “space opera,” Cosmogramma, have trickled out. There’s the new track “Quakes” from the recent Warp Records compilation 2010. You’ve got new “non-album” tracks that Warp have graciously set free. Or the super wonky (but so awesome) Lil’ Wayne remixes that FlyLo decided to drop at his site. If that’s not exciting enough for you, none other than Thom Yorke will be making an appearance on the upcoming album.

OK, enough with the hype, on to the goods. We’re now getting the first batch of promo tracks from the new album, and it appears as though the man has upped the ante from 2008’s most excellent Los Angeles. In particular, I’m really digging the falling guitar lines and bounce-clap of “Dance Of The Pseudo Nymph.” Gilles Peterson broadcasted the world premier on his radio show only last week. And we got your back now with the full version.

Cosmogramma is due out on May 4th in the U.S. — gregb

I’d seen some photographs of this band, but it’s really something else to actually watch them perform. There’s something about them and their music that seems very “futuristic” to me, like it’s music that is actually from some point a few years down the line rather than something that is happening right now. I wrote a review of their album for Pitchfork, I’m not sure how many people actually noticed. They’re definitely worth your time.

The original version of this song is almost sort of beautiful and mellow. The Twelves push the song through their disco rock remix machine and make the song fun and danceable. Plus any song with cowbell in it is an uber plus for me. MOAR COWBELL!

WATCH: “You Got the Dirtee Love” by Florence and the Machine & Dizzee Rascal

Dizzee Rascal and Florence Welch doing a live performance from the 2010 Brits. I’ve seen a few videos of Florence and the Machine performances - even though she has such strong potential, most performances of hers are kind of inconsistent (either ridiculously good or mediocre). This video definitely is one of her strongest vocal performances I’ve seen though. Also, theres gold confetti, multiple disco balls and harps; plus Florence freaking emerges from a giant disco ball. Wish this were my life.

LISTEN: Living Sacrifice

Carly Margolis is the brilliant Brooklyn-based jewelry designer behind All For the Mountain. I interned for her for a minute and couldn’t help but wonder wtf goes on inside her head. She’s all about edgy yet ethereal pieces… just effing cool cosmic energy all around. Anywho, Carly’s band, Living Sacrifice performed during designer Mara Hoffman’s NYFW Fall 2010 presentation a few days ago.. listen and love. Feeel the vibes.

It was so awesome having Living Sacrifice play live at the presentation (fully decked in some Mara Hoffman one of a kinds and All for the Mountain head pieces! Carly Margolis and Matthew Morgan killed it with their music. It can only be described as “growing triumphant sounds that shoot emotional lasers,” they really sealed the cosmic deal.

Janelle Monae’s back with a new album called The ArchAndroid set to be released on May 18th. Also conveniently enough, its co-produced by Big Boi which would explain why he’s lended a verse to her new single, “Tightrope”. This single is fast paced and just fun as hell. Check out Ken Ross’s new album Zzzz. I put up my favorite track off of the album for you guys to listen; its “Stop (featuring Jordan Looney and Soupa)”. I was watching the promo video and I love Ken’s explanation for the album. With a background in jazz (yazz flute?!), the entire album is very relaxing and laidback. He wanted to create an album that takes you through his “dreams and thoughts”. Very nice to relax to on a lazy sunday. Beatcakes party regulars Green Street also have a few spots on here so make sure to give the album a listen.

Okay I am probably so incredibly late on this but its too good to not post up again. We all know that “My Girls” was on the top of nearly everybody’s best of 2009 list but this remix is just perfect for DJs to keep the dancefloor going. Mike Monday takes that repeating spacey chord thingy and builds it into a climax. Doesn’t really stray too incredibly far from the remix but is just a really great dance friendly remix of an already awesome song. Definitely give it a listen.
